according to the new concept of sylvicola

presented in Kerrigan’s Agaricus of NA, only CA collections have been DNA confirmed to be the same as the European sylvicola; it is also “reported” from NY. Its cap only slightly yellows when rubbed or cut.

There are many lookalikes.
