Observation 75789: Lichen P. Micheli

When: 2011-08-31

Collection location: Sintra, Portugal [Click for map]

Who: zaca

No specimen available

Despite the efforts I could not even determine the genus of this specimen.
The microscopy was not much conclusive, and I was able to visualize only one spore (dimensions: 19 × 10). A feature of it is that hymenium reacted blue to the addition of a drop of Melzer reagent.

Chemical reactions.
Apothecial section (mount: NH4OH).
With the addition of a drop of Melzer.

Just looking at black lecideine crusts with brown 2-celled spores:

According to Lichens of North America: Rhizocarpon, Buellia s. lato (incl. Amandinea and Diploicia)

Sonoran Flora adds Rinodina (probably not on rock, though) and Dimlaena
