This mushroom was growing on the ground under mixed hardwoods. I impaled it on the slintered stump of a blown down tree.

I took 967 images yesterday. There were so many mushrooms out that it was literally hard to walk without stepping on them. Maybe somebody can tell from looking at the photos.
