Notes:
Mixed conifers. Lots of spruce. Saw a few specimens with non scrobiculate stipes. Actual color was most like first pic… greenish brown.

says, “has been confused and misidentified as (several other names), and Lactarius sordidus, all of which which Basso (1999) now recognizes as synonyms.” So I’m wondering, is L. sordidus the current name, or are there two separate species now recognized?
