When: 2011-09-23

Collection location: Fernandina Beach, Florida, USA [Click for map]

Who: mike carpenter (carp442)

No specimen available

Notes:
This HUGE 9+ inch cap was in the hole where a pine tree existed until last year when a fire burnt this area up. Its been raining for about 6 days off and on. Brillant sulphur yellow cap. Very textured surface. it had a sister in a nearby hole. I pulled it and shot pics of the base/ stem / pores. Very light blue bruising. very mild flavor. placed a white styrofoam cup bottom under it to hopefully get some spores yesterday. Some did appear overnight, but maybe too light, or not enought yet to make a color determination.
