This is old post I ran across and I wanted to change the old “sect. Lepidella” to “subgenus Lepidella.” But the subgenus options seems to be unavailable on MO.

Duh — actually you say spores are amyloid!

Dave, looks like the spores were mounted in Melzer’s — they look amyloid. This fact, if indeed true, combined with the fb coloration, points to sect. Validae.
