Observation 77483: Lichen P. Micheli

When: 2011-09-24

Collection location: Serra de São Mamede, Portugal [Click for map]

Who: zaca

No specimen available

Notes:
This observation is very much related with that in MO68637 because it was made in the same place (up to 10 meters) and the object (species) of the observation seems to be the same. At the place I didn’t realized this connection, but I made spot tests and looked to the underside (where some small rhizines are present in the margin of thallus as I suspected to be the case in the previous observation).

What is it?

Wow, that’s tomentum not just rhizines on the underside. This has got to be one of the felt lichens, like Pannaria or Degelia… This is way outside my experience. Beautiful thing.
