Austroboletus very likely

The color of the hymenophore and the stipe ornamentation point to Austroboletus. It recalls something I collected during Feb 2013 in southeast Queensland. My material had spores with coarse ornamentation about the middle, smooth at apex and base. Species with such ornamentation include (but may not be limited to): A. lacunosus, A. mucosus (=A. rostrupii fide Horak), A. fusiformis, A. dictyotus, A. kinabaluensis. Unfortunately, many of the Corner species were preserved in formalin-alcohol and reveal little useful morphological information except that from the spores. This according to E. Horak who has revised Corner’s boletes of Malaysia book.
