B. pallidus looks like…

a good possibility for the bolete. The bluish bruise on the pores looks like what I often see on pallidus.

I’m not sue that “mixed collection” applies in the usual MO sense that several specimens are presented within the same observation. I think having the “Boletus pallidus” and “Hypomyces” proposals each stand separately makes the point.

I remember when I saw this mushroom a uniform , homogenous coating was easily noticeable. My first thought was Hypomyces.

I don’t see any hypomyces. Me thinks it’s just overexposed pix.
