how much we DON’T know about the Amanitacea here in North America.

But the fun is in the discovery…;)

Amanita umbrinolutea is not known to occur outside of Eurasia. The range is thought to extend from the Himalayas to western Europe. I don’t think that umbrinolutea is what you have. On the other hand, what you have photographed is very interesting, John. And Pinchot St. Pk. is a neat place, isn’t it?

I see that the observation is marked “no herbarium specimen.” Is that correct?
