That could be. I found a few Lactarius that have purple staining latex, and I have to go through the sources and check on how they should get id’ed in detail. I haven’t done that yet, I just tossed this one up on the site as L. uvidus to get started on it. These I didn’t save actually, it turns out. They were kinda old. But I have two others with the purple staining, and I need to look over the source in more detail. But I have lots of stuff I need to go through sources about, kinda of a good and bad thing…

when it’s cut – and if you have hornbeam around these too.. I’d suggest Lactarius violascens.
