impossible to tell cap color for certain, but NOT white.

however, the sectioned mushrooms clearly show bits of typical brown edulis cap.

pine hab sez edulis too.

not barrowsii.

still yummy.

I recall feeling that these two mushrooms knew we were pining for a Boletus experience, close to home.

was it growing with oak or pine?
