Observation 8240: Pluteus flavofuligineus G.F. Atk.

When: 2008-07-02

Collection location: Wachusett Mountain State Reservation, Princeton, Massachusetts, USA [Click for map]

Who: Brian Seitzman

Specimen available

Notes:
Because the stipe is white and the base of the stipe brown in these specimens, some authorities identify this as P. leoninus. Others claim that the latter species is European in geography. I’ll be a lumper today and call it P. admirabilis.
