Recognized by sight: weird lighting on this chanterelle or it has a greenish yellow cast to those gills, and a brownish orange cap.

I was surprised a few days ago to see that when you boil them they turn purple-gray…

They smell a little fruity, but a little mushroomy. They’re actually more yellow-ish brown (now) than they look – the lighting is bad – When I collected them they were bright yellow, like the first. They have yellow spores that stain everything yellow.
