Specimen growing in between two test pits on the Moncayo property, each contaminated differing concentrations of crude oil and substrate, but not suspected to be in direct contact with any considerable contamination, at least not enough to be readily observed.

Recognized by sight: Laternea dringii is the only specie of Laternea from tropical rain forest vegetation… we reported this specie of tropical rain forest from Mexico. Laternea triscapa and Laternea pusilla grown in the tropical cloud forest.
