I know of at least 4 people frequenting SPSP and the coastal woods early in the fall season who recognize this gemmatoid Amanita that is a medium size, but has a rather leggy stature. Does anyone have any recent material of it? The stature in this case may present an interesting taxonomic signal, or it may not, but we need to check. I used to see this one a lot in 2005-06 before I actually developed the habit to save material.. It seems to common in the early season and I never go to SPSP until the season is well mature. Any collections will be acknowledged in any formal work we publish.D.
