Observation 8514: Cortinarius multiformis (Fr.) Fr.

When: 2007-10-02

Collection location: Diamond and Crater Lake, Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Ron Pastorino (Ronpast)

No specimen available

These seemed to match the characteristics for C. multiformis. The caps were somewhat viscid initially. One stem had a fairly abrupt bulb but the others were straighter. The caps were 4.5-10.1 cm across. There was only scant cortina on the stems. The habitat was mixed, mostly conifers.
