Recognized by sight: growing on birch. Macroscopically a rather atypical specimen. Very common in all types of wood on all types of debris.
Used references
Based on microscopic features: hyphae with clamps, mostly encrusted. Leptocystidia like hyphal ends, heavily encrusted, not pointed. Spores very inconspicuous and smooth.
