Observation 8690: Trichoglossum Boud.

When: 2008-08-05

Collection location: Plumas Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Mike (mjfriend)

Specimen available

Notes:
I keyed this specimen using Mushrooms Demystified, Arora 1986. The velvety hairs do not show up well in my photos but are obvious under low-power magnification.

It was found in a fen, i.e. on peat soils that are saturated year-round, in the Plumas National Forest, northeast California. Arora reports it as a winter and spring fruiter. This specimen was found on August 1, 2008.

The dried vascular plant in the photos is probably Mimulus primuloides.
