some of the lepidella amanitas have odd but distinguishable odors.
it’s a hard group to separate out to species, and the east has LOTS!!! but they are all cool, and fun to find.

ps. bring a dandelion digger or facsimile to the woods next time.
that’s what it takes to get these babies outta the ground in one piece.
their “roots” often run deep…
