Notes:
These bright yellow corals keyed out the same as the peach colored coral in 8803. Maybe they are the same, maybe not.

They were growing in a large fairy ring.

I was hunting with my sister and seven year-old niece who pointed out the yellow coral in the third photo. It was not an especially photogenic specimen, but I got down on my elbows and knees to get a shot of it for her. As I was adjusting the focus, my niece started screaming “Back away! Back away!”

That’s when I saw the copper head, the biggest one I’ve ever seen, less than a foot from my hands and face.

This truly can be a dangerous sport!
