This collection was on display at the 2003 Oregon Mycological Society Fall Mushroom Show, which was held at the World Forestry Center in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. I have collected this species several times. It is especially abundant above 2500 feet elevation in the Cascades Mountains. Host tree may be Noble fir.
