Maybe Clavulinopsis fusiformis

While I don’t know why the name wasn’t accepted, the preferred name seems to be Clavulinopsis fusiformis according to Bessette et al in Mushrooms of the Southeastern US.

Error message read: “Unable to create the name ‘clavulina fusiformis’.”

Perhaps this name is not considered valid, but Arora uses it on pg 639 to refer to a yellow coral larger than Clavulina laeticolor.
