on moss and gravel alongside a sandy brook bed, so habitat is ok. The finders told me that they had found it the year before on the exact same place and that it is H. corium. I think it is that small because it was sweltering hot and dry during the time of the collecting.
…enough details to verify your determination. Did the fruitbody really grow on the soil or on hidden wood? I know H. corium from calcerous soils with less vegetation e.g. gravel pits.
