Collection location: Cape Lookout State Park, Tillamook Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

This is perhaps the largest specimen of Macowanites that I have ever found. It was located at Cape Lookout, Tillamook Co., OR, and was over 4 inches across the cap, which as the photos show, was mostly under cover of grass. A stipe and convoluted gills were all present after excavation.
