Observation 9544: Laccaria amethysteo-occidentalis G.M. Muell.

When: 2003-03-03

Collection location: Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

I believe this is a Laccaria species, but I could be wrong. I’m pretty sure it isn’t Laccaria amethystina, which is the only purple species I’m aware of. Any suggestions?

I have found L. amethystino-occidentalis before. This one seemed atypical. Perhaps because of a different kind of habitat than I was expecting: almost no trees around.
