very probably what has been called P. flavofuligineus in North America is the same thing as Pluteus leoninus from Europe.

The situation of this group of species still needs further study specially on this side of the Atlantic. There is at least one undescribed taxon in the P. leoninus group known from Illinois and Missouri but more collections are needed to unravel the taxonomy of this group.
