Observation 96658: Leucopaxillus albissimus (Peck) Singer

When: 2012-06-06

Collection location: Hanover, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Dave W (Dave W)

No specimen available

Seems early in the season for either Leucopaxillus or the large robust Clitocybe species. No sweet/rancid odor as in C. robusta. Cap surface shiny.

Mushrooms were growing in an area along a busy road. I needed to pull over my car, run over and quickly pull a few out of the ground.
