Collected during the 2003 Oregon Mycological Society’s Fall Mushroom Forage at Camp Macgruder, Tillamook Co., OR. Scleroderma geaster is somewhat different from other Sclerodermas in that it tends to split into rays, similar to Geaster (Earth Stars). However, the name S. geaster has now been deprecated to S. polyrhizum.
