i guess it works as a “field guide name” but it doesn’t work on a science based website.

But if one were to apply a “field guide name” to it, it would be C. cibarius. Similar work being done on Strobilomyces right now.

expert does a good job explaining it. The genus needs a lot more research.

Would microscopy help? What features/lack of features suggest this is not C. cibarius here? Thanks!
