I did bring my 2012 collections back, and I will look to see if I can find this one. I would be shocked of it turned out to be Suillus fucsotomentosus. There are probably some east coast names that could be applied.

Hi Alan, I was looking over S. fuscotomentosus observations this evening, and this is the only observation outside of California at present. It certainly could be close to fuscotomentosus; do you happen to have this specimen still? I’d be interested in sequence data too. Looks like the pine was 3-needled from your photo, but I don’t know anything about the pines of Mexico. S. fuscotomentosus is of course only known from ponderosa pine.
