Observation 98291: Marasmiellus Murrill (Site ID) (Collybiopsis)

Found growing on live and downed bannana stalks. Initial collection and description was of young specimen.


Pileus:4-30mm diam, Plano-convex to uplifted, mature specimen-depressed, striate to wrinkled-sulcate, margin minutely eroded and incurved, orange brown(oac790) to cream (oac816) with age, dry glabrous with age. Veil absent

Stipe:4-17 mm predominately excentric, basal disk present and tougher consistency than stipe tissue. Stipe tapering from base to apex (4-1mm), clavate and pubescent when young. Purple brown(oac397) @ base and fading to pale cream at apex (oac816)Context fistulose at base up approxomately 2/3 of stipe. stipe fiberous and tough.

Young specimen (Pileus & Stipe): pubescent to matted fibrilose, honey brown (oac790), clavate stipe (4mm to 1mm @ apex) tapering abruptly and attaching to substrate.

Lamellae:distant to subdistant, adenexed to free (loosely connected by cottony fibers, 1-3.5 mm breadth, Lameallar edge white, pruinose, 3-4 series, periodically furcate, regular lamellae followed by 2-4 lamellulae.

Spore print: (*oac792) light orange brown to cream

Specimen predated by slugs, beetles and millipedes.
