Notes: Species found in the area and mountains of northern New Mexico. This is an area of high altitude, usually 7,000 to 11,000 feet. Most of the year is dry or frozen, but in the early fall there is a period of rain storms almost every day for 6-8 weeks. During this time, the mushrooms come out in profusion.
